SummaryEditAs the rainy season is coming to an end, Futaba Ooki and Hikari Kohinata are on a jog outside of the school grounds in preparation for the upcoming practical ocean training in the summer. While jogging, a large man jogs up behind them and they immediately spot that Cha is riding on his head, so they stop to talk to them. The man explains that he's he cat's owner, and that the cat's real name is Aria. He's surprised and confused when he learns that Hikari calls his cat the Diving Club's advisor.
After the man has gone, Hikari and Futaba sit down on a verge for a drink break, when they notice a flock of crows making a commotion nearby. Looking more closely, they notice that the crows are actually attacking a tiny kitten, and Hikari immediately runs to scare the birds away while Futaba guards the kitten. The girls wonder why such a tiny kitten is out there all alone, and decide to sit and wait to see if the cat's parent comes back for it. The kitten begins sucking on Hikari's finger and the girls wonder if the kitten is hungry, so Futaba looks up on the internet what to do when an abandoned kitten is found, and learns they need to give it warm cat milk.
Futaba and Hikari take the kitten to a convenience store and buy her some powdered cat milk and a feeding bottle, then take her back to school where they prepare the milk for her in the nurse's office. Mato Katori comes in and spots them caring for the kitten, and asking if they're planning on raising it. The girls realise that neither of them can take her home, because Hikari's mother is allergic to cats and Futaba's apartment complex doesn't allow pets. Mato reminds them of the lifelong responsibility of caring for a pet and cautions them to be prepared for what it entails.
Thinking hard about it, Futaba monologues that she has Hikari, Mato, the Ninomiya twins, and her parents, but the little kitten is all alone, and wishes she could have been the savior for this kitten like Hikari had been for her. This emboldens Hikari, who gets up and rushes out to call her mother and ask for permission to keep the kitten in her bedroom until a foster parent is found for it, who agrees. Futaba finds a cat foster parent pages on the internet, and the girls plan to make and distribute flyers looking for foster parents for her. Mato questions why they're so fired up about this, and Futaba responds that even though they're young and there's a lot that they can't do, they can still try their best at the things they can.
Suddenly, a curtain opens on one of the stations in the nurse's office, revealing the man they met earlier sitting on the end of one of the beds with Cha in his arms. Hikari and Futaba are shocked that the man is actually the school's Principal. He had been fallen asleep in the nurse's office after his jog but had woken up after hearing the girls' conversation. He asks the girls if he could adopt the kitten to be a mate for Aria (Cha), and the girls are extremely thankful.
